The Internet as a battleground

The Internet as a battleground used by the terrorist organizations: How Hezbollah and Hamas exploit the Internet in the battle for hearts and minds, and how to combat them

The above is a link to a 63 page pdf file. I haven’t read it yet, but I trust the blog where I found it enough to post a link anyway, and hope to have time to read it later this week.

The United Nations Security Council on Friday called on Hezbollah to immediately and unconditionally release abducted Israel Defense Forces soldiers Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.

Remember The Brady Bunch Movie? Well, there’s a scene where Marcia’s original date to a dance (Doug) calls her a less-than-polite name, and the nerdy guy who’s got a crush on her (Charlie) decides to defend her honor:

Charlie: Hey, I heard what you said, Doug, and I’m not gonna let you talk to Marcia like that.
Doug: Yeah?
Charlie: Yeah.
Doug (grabbing Charlie up by his shirt, causing it to pull across his throat): Well, what are you gonna do about it, geek?

Lebanon’s Hizballah terrorist militia has rejected an Israeli proposal to exchange two Israeli soldiers being held by the group for hundreds of Lebanese and Palestinian terrorists jailed in the Jewish state.

If it can be confirmed that Regev and Goldwasser are still alive, then Israeli will free hundreds more prisoners in return for their release.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this. I fully believe that Israel has the best military in the world, but at the same time I don’t think they’re above propaganda to build the people’s hopes going into this next war (all governments do it). What do you all think?

Israeli home front unprepared for war

TEL AVIV – One year after the Lebanese Hezbollah militia fired more than 3,000 rockets into northern Israeli population centers, the Jewish state’s home front – especially Jerusalem and Tel Aviv – are largely unprepared for the event of war, say officials.

If this is true, then I’m just speechless. If there’s one country in the world that should be prepared for all-out war at any given time, it’s Israel.
