Israel on High Alert

Israel on high alert for Hizballah attacks
By Israel Today Staff

Israeli military officials are concerned that Lebanon’s Hizballah terrorist militia will renew hostilities against the Jewish state following a prisoner swap scheduled for Wednesday.

If fear of an attack from Hizballah puts Israel on high alert, shouldn’t they always be on high alert?

Canada's Holocaust task force

While largely symbolic, the move will allow Canada to share the way its different jurisdictions teach students about the Holocaust, and take away lessons learned from the task force’s 25 other member countries.

The Legend of Ron Arad May Be Over

Hezbollah to Israel: Missing airman believed dead
By Laurie Copans

Lebanon’s Hezbollah has told Israel it does not know what happened to an airman missing for more than two decades but it believes he is dead, Israeli officials said Saturday. The report could clear the way for a prisoner swap between the two foes.

There have been a few stories about the whereabouts of Ron Arad that have surfaced over the years, obviously the ones that say he’s still alive are the most popular (the most interesting one I found had him as a prisoner in Iran who couldn’t walk; he underwent forced surgery to disable his legs following escape attempts). However, even though I’m on the bandwagon that wants a happy ending, the truth is that none of the terrorist organizations in that part of the world are going to keep a prisoner for that long. If anything, they’d kill him and try to keep the illusion alive in orer to get Israel to release a couple hundred prisoners.

As sad a reality as it is, Ron Arad has probably been dead for a long time.

Hizballah planning next attack on Israel
By Israel Today Staff Writer

While Israel prepares to conduct a lopsided trade with Hizballah, exchanging a celebrity terrorist killer for the bodies of two soldiers believed to already be dead, the Lebanese terror group is readying its next attack against the Jewish state.

This is retaliation for the assassination of Imad Mughniyah. While I don’t think Israel killed him, they’d be totally justified if they did. Either way, another war with Hizb’Allah is coming, and I suspect it’ll be much bigger than the last.

So, the ceasefire is a stall of some sort?

Hamas+Logo+for+blog So, the ceasefire is a stall of some sort?Hamas: Negotiations with Israel out of question
By DPA

A spokesman for Hamas on Saturday said negotiations with Israel is out of the question and that the Islamic movement will never recognize “the enemy.”

Article Continues… (Earth Times)

Recognition of Israel has always been a requirement for peace, so this refusal to “recognize ‘the enemy’” will probably prevent any sort of peace negotiations during the ceasefire. So, why even agree to a ceasefire? Well, according to WorldNetDaily, Hamas terror groups are using this time to rearm.

Once again, in an effort to keep the international community happy and keep its people safe, Israel has played the fool.

A Truce with Hamas, Huh?

Hamas Announces Cease-Fire With Israel to Begin Thursday
By AP Staff Writer

The Gaza Strip’s ruling Hamas militant group on Tuesday said it has reached a cease-fire with Israel meant to halt a violent cycle of Palestinian rocket attacks that have killed seven Israelis over the past year and Israeli reprisals that have killed more than 400 Palestinians.

If gambling was my thing, I’d probably start a pool on how long this will last…

Based on what I’ve seen over the last couple of years, I really think this truce will make things worse, as relaxing security around Gaza is NOT in Israel’s best interest.

Palestinian leader urges new dialogue with Hamas
By MOHAMMED DARAGHMEH

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called Wednesday for new dialogue with Hamas, in what appeared to be an about-face after insisting for a year that he would not talk with the Islamic militant movement unless it first gave up control of Gaza.

Israel is Western civilization’s canary in the coal mine. If Israel cannot survive, perhaps Western civilization — pluralistic, democratic, individualistic, secular, free-trading and devoted to the rule of law — will be unable to last, either.

The Silent Jihad Against The West
By Vincent Gioia

Anyone that cares to learn about what is going on in the world is familiar with active jihad, the “holy war”, conducted with terrorism and directed at the modern world in general and western civilization more specifically. But there is also another form of jihad that is part of the deliberate effort to have Islam replace all concepts of morality and the values held dear by the rest of us. The name of this silent “fifth column” effort is “Sharia Banking”. Unfortunately, Sharia Banking is increasingly accepted by western banking institutions without any real understanding of what the Muslim goal is and what is at stake in the efforts by these institutions to attract more business, profits and money to bail them out of financial messes they brought upon themselves.

There was an episode of The Simpsons several years ago that was set in the future. In it, Marge comments, “You know, Fox turned into a hardcore porn channel so gradually I didn’t even notice.” Sadly, I suspect we have something similar happening with Sharia in the west; it starts with a bunch of things, like Sharia Finance, that seem harmless. Before you know it, we’re all Dhimmis.

While the Holocaust denial in this clip is especially troubling, it’s unfortunately become a standard on news & opinion programs in the Middle East.

The thing that gets me is the accusation that Al Qaeda and the Mossad were working together on 9/11. In order to accept this nonsense, one would have to believe the following:

1) Al Qaeda can set aside it’s antisemitic feeling long enough to work with Israel in attacking a more-hated enemy.

2) Israel would side with organizations that want it wiped off the map in order to attack its closest ally.

Being a filmmaker doesn’t make one an expert on world events. If anything, it makes you an expert on fabricating stories that are more entertaining than real life.

LiveLeak steps back up to the plate

LiveLeak has reposted the controversial 15 minute video Fitna, with the following message at the top of the page:

On the 28th of March LiveLeak.com was left with no other choice but to remove the film “fitna” from our servers following serious threats to our staff and their families. Since that time we have worked constantly on upgrading all security measures thus offering better protection for our staff and families. With these measures in place we have decided to once more make this video live on our site. We will not be pressured into censoring material which is legal and within our rules. We apologise for the removal and the delay in getting it back, but when you run a website you don’t consider that some people would be insecure enough to threaten our lives simply because they do not like the content of a video we neither produced nor endorsed but merely hosted.

If that ain’t inspiring, I don’t know what is!
